NMCN CONDUCT COUNCIL EXAM IN ECOHSAT CBT CENTERS

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) Board Examination is a standardized assessment designed to evaluate the knowledge, skills, and competence of final-year nursing and midwifery students seeking to enter or advance in their profession.

The 2025 Midwifery Council Examination, a four-day exercise, commenced on March 11th and concluded on March 14th, 2025, at the ECOHSAT CBT Labs, one of the selected centers nationwide. The center hosted candidates from eight institutions within and outside Kano Metropolis, including:

Emirates College of Nursing Sciences College of Nursing, Kano Aminu Dabo College of Nursing Sciences College of Nursing and Midwifery, Dambatta College of Nursing and Midwifery, Gwarzo Nafisatu College of Nursing and Midwifery, Kwankwaso Dansharif College of Nursing Sciences College of Nursing, Gezawa, and Department of Nursing Sciences, Bayero University Kano (BUK)

The council team, which comprised a Council Observer, Malam Umar Gambo; Chief Examiner, Hajiya Mairo Ibrahim; and exam officials Hajiya Aisha Muhammad, Hajiya Huwaila Rabiu, and Mrs. Olusola Ogunrinde, began their duties immediately upon arrival on the first day of the examination.

In a brief statement, the Council Observer expressed satisfaction with the CBT center’s capacity and standard, stating that it provided a conducive environment for the board examination. He commended the punctuality of the candidates and their adherence to examination rules and regulations, as the exam commenced promptly at the stipulated time.
Over 420 candidates sat for the exam, while security personnel, including Civil Defense officers, along with invigilators, were stationed at key points to enforce regulations, resolve queries, ensure smooth entry into the center, and assist students when needed.

The Director of ECOHSAT/ECONS, Dr. Shuaibu Suleiman, thanked the council for selecting the college’s CBT center as one of the venues for the national examination. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for a hitch-free conduct of the council exam and pledged continuous improvement of the facility to meet the ever-increasing demands of technology and human resources.

He also wished all the candidates success in their exams, particularly the pioneer midwifery set of Emirates College of Nursing Sciences (ECONS), hoping for an outstanding outcome when the results are released.
